Ikon realizza la "Guida archeologica in realtà virtuale" della Padova di Tito Livio


Presented in Padua at the headquarters of the Civic Museums, the brand new "virtual reality archaeological guide" of Padua at the time of Tito Livio, created by IKON thanks to the Virtours platform. It is a great new project for cultural tourism: IKON has worked with archaeologists at the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Padua, to process an impressive mass of data made available by archaeological research carried out from the nineteenth century to today. The "VR Guide", funded by the Cassa di Risparmio Padua and Rovigo Foundation, will enable tourists, archeology enthusiasts and students wearing the Samsung Gear VR headset to visit the ancient Padua.

Friday, May 13, 2016 - Ikon signs off on the Best Western Italia VR experience

For Milan Design Week 2016, Best Western Italia wished to create a more representative virtual tour of its hotels, doing so with Ikon at the helm, thanks to the Virtours platform. In the Immersion Box located in Corso Garibaldi visitors were offered the chance at an interesting virtual experience.
The Virtours platform allowed for initial profiling of each visitor and an automated marketing action with the sending of a thank you mail at the end of each tour.


Thursday, May 5, 2016 - Ikon with Virtours at the Galileo Festival of Innovation 2016

The immersive virtual tour of the Nora archaeological site was presented by IKON at the 4th edition of the Galileo Festival of Innovation 2016, held in Padova from the 5th to the 8th of May. At the stand belonging to the University of Padova's Department of Cultural Assets (Dipartimento dei Beni Culturali dell'Università di Padova) the public were able to see a preview reconstruction of the ancient Roman city of Nora thanks to the Virtours platform and the Samsung Gear VR viewer.

Wednesday, May 4, 2016 - School and business for the design of new digital services: Ikon takes part in idFVG.

Ikon has played an active role at Internet Day FVG (the event organised to celebrate 30 years of the Internet in Italy), presenting its Virtours platform to a group of students from Trieste's high schools. 

The event, organised together with the ITS A. Volta Foundation and Insiel Mercato S.p.A, was held last April 29th at LAB3 in the AREA Science Park, and gave the young students the chance to "get hands on" with the innumerable VR opportunities.


Friday, April 29, 2016 - Ikon presents Virtours at the first Samsung Gear VR Business Case History Forum

The Virtours platform for the use of VR in business environments was a star actor at the Samsung Gear VR Business Case History Forum, the meeting organised at the brand new Milan Samsung Arena April 28th last.
Ikon, a Samsung partner in the VR sector, was invited (together with a few other Italian groups operating in the sector) to participate in the keynote with the presentation of its solution for the creation, management and distribution of immersive content.

Sunday, February 28, 2016 - Etihad Rail has entrusted Ikon with the VR promotion of the new United Arab Emirates railway line

Ikon has created for Etihad Rail the 3D virtual tour of the locations in the UAE which the new track passes through, with immersive 360° panoramas of the landscape and the infrastructure of the new line, accompanied by information hotspots on the importance and the complexity of the works themselves. For this content's usage, in addition to the Virtours platform, Ikon has created a mobile app for Cardboard (both for iOS and Android systems) publishing on the respective stores, and has supplied a custom Etihad Cardboard viewer, distributed as an innovative gadget for a select group of stakeholders.

Ikon is taking part in the eighth edition of the Florence BTO, at its stand presenting VIRTOURS, the innovative platform for the creation and management of catalogues for tourist destinations and hospitality in virtual reality mode.
The platform is an entirely new phenomenon in the tourist sector and more besides, offering users an intense and emotional experience thanks to the use of immersive content, at the same time providing tourist operators with a complete promotional and sales digital platform.

Monday, October 5, 2015 - Ikon is the digital partner of the Barcolana for the second year in succession

The partnership with Ikon continues with updated graphics and functions to the Barcolana website. Among the "Smart" initiatives of the 47th Barcolana, one finds a new online participant registration system and the new App for iOS and Android, downloadable from the respective stores from September.

The new version of the site has undergone considerable graphic restyling, keeping the most appreciated in look & feel and in functionality from last year's version.

Tuesday, September 15, 2015 - Emirates has chosen Virtours to create the VR catalogue for its tourist destinations

Emirates Holiday, the airline's tour operator, has chosen the Ikon Virtours Tourism platform to present its destinations in VR. The platform offers virtual tours of the various tourist destinations, with the option of viewing the content either with the VR (virtual reality) viewer or via the web (in "360" mode, as with Google Street View).

Friday, May 1, 2015 - Discover coffee’s secrets in the Digital Coffee Cluster

The website, created by Ikon and Nudesign for Illy, offers users a virtual reality tour of the Expo Milano 2015 pavilion dedicated to coffee. Users can explore the history of coffee and how it's produced, from the bean's harvest to its roasting and grinding.  Videos and photo galleries adorn the virtual tour's various informative sections, while mini-games test users knowledge of the world of coffee.
