The Revoltella Museum - Gallery of Modern Art in Trieste introduces a new digital experience that bridges innovation and heritage. Developed by IKON as part of the project “Follow us! Pasquale Revoltella and Carlo Scarpa: metahuman guides”, the installation brings two exceptional narrators into the museum for the first time: Pasquale Revoltella and Carlo Scarpa, digitally recreated as interactive virtual characters.
Through a 65’’ touchscreen, visitors can interact with the two metahumans and learn more about the history of the palace and its architectural transformations. The experience continues with a web app integrating augmented reality functions, which activates nine interactive points along the route: by scanning the QR codes placed throughout the museum, Baron Revoltella appears in AR to guide visitors and reveal details and curiosities about the artworks and spaces.
The project stands as a tangible example of how digital technology can become a bridge between past and present — keeping memory alive while giving it new and engaging forms of narration.
