Immaginario Scientifico, a science center born in Trieste in 1988, has moved from its historic headquarters in Grignano to the prestigious Magazzino 26 complex in the Porto Vecchio of Trieste, an imposing place deeply linked to the history and culture of the city. The new space, recently renovated, is distinguished by the presence of numerous interactive multimedia stations.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the new headquarters, IKON created a "magic room" for immersive projections and created the first digital content for this installation.
The experience designed by IKON traces a story in images: those to evoke, to know and to explore science in all its facets and in the different fields of study.
Photographs, reconstructions, animations and three-dimensional models follow one another on a single projection surface of 40 square meters created by applying 3D mapping technology to the entire walls of the room. The viewer is therefore enveloped by the story and, accompanied by an original soundtrack, reviews the major scientific discoveries and the dynamics that govern our planet, traveling from the past to the present, from the atom, to the human body, to the solar system.
The video, lasting 10 minutes, is entitled “Imaginaire Scientifique”, in homage to the exhibition that the physicist Paolo Budinich - founder of the museum - had created in Paris in 1986.
