Telling science through digital technology
The Immaginario Scientifico of Trieste has chosen IKON to carry out an educational project, aimed at promoting scientific divulgation through new digital technologies, capable of offering visitors an innovative and engaging learning experience. The first of the two digital installations envisaged in the project is a projection room for multimedia content that develops on three contiguous walls, enveloping the viewer. The second, on the other hand, consists of an interactive educational path, based on large format touch screens, aimed at illustrating the composition and functioning of the cell. The software makes use of accurate interactive 3D reconstructions that can be freely explored by visitors.
Magic Room "Imaginaire Scientifique"
The "magic room" for the immersive use of multimedia content is located inside a closed environment, equipped with a projection system on three walls that guarantees a single and continuous video projection surface thanks to the use of video mapping. The video content, entitled "Imaginaire Scientifique", is aimed at narrating the function of the image in scientific research in a creative and compelling way. The video, entirely conceived and produced by IKON, makes use of photographs, reconstructions, animations and three-dimensional models and is accompanied by an original soundtrack. Completely surrounded by images, the viewer is confronted in a dynamic way with various topics of a scientific nature, which retrace the most important discoveries of our species: from the study of human biology to the exploration of the Solar System
Journey inside the cell
Based on an interactive touch screen, the project offers visitors the opportunity to explore the functioning and composition of a cell in a dynamic and entertaining way. The user can take advantage of a detailed 3D reconstruction that can be rotated, enlarged and manipulated at will, allowing in-depth analysis of the cell from the membrane to the nucleus. In fact, the large format touch screens make it possible to interact very easily with the 3D simulation and to quickly access all the complementary information included in the project, keeping the experience intuitive and engaging.
